Regions we cover
- Chicago
Illinois 3D scanning concentrated on Chicago, where a century-deep stock of high-rise, warehouse and rail-served industrial buildings is constantly being converted, retrofitted or re-tenanted.
The Loop and Streeterville are occupied high-rise work. Floor plates get captured between tenants, mechanical penthouses before equipment replacement, and terracotta and limestone façades before restoration — Chicago's façade ordinance means envelope documentation comes up far more often here than in most markets. Freight elevator windows and building engineer escorts set the schedule.
River North and the West Loop are conversion markets. Timber loft and masonry warehouse buildings are being reworked for office, residential and hospitality, and almost none of them have drawings that match the building. Floor-to-floor heights, column grids, and out-of-square conditions are what the design team actually needs before anything else starts.
Outside the core, the O'Hare corridor and the south and southwest industrial belt are logistics and manufacturing: air cargo buildings, rail-served warehouses, and older plants where equipment has been replaced in place several times. O'Hare and Midway airspace shapes every flight, and winter genuinely constrains exterior and roof capture between roughly December and March.
