What do you mean by "digital twin" — is it a live, real-time system?
Not in the IoT-sensor sense — our digital twin deliverable is a highly accurate geometric record of the building or site as of the capture date: a registered point cloud paired with a BIM model and, where useful, a navigable walkthrough. It is a comprehensive record you return to for decisions, not a live feed.
What's actually included in a digital twin deliverable?
The core is a point cloud plus a coordinated Revit or IFC model, with an optional virtual walkthrough layered on top for stakeholders who will never open CAD. The combination lets an engineering team work in the model while facility staff or executives navigate the same building remotely.
Who is a digital twin actually useful for if half our team doesn't use CAD?
That's the point of pairing the model with a walkthrough — engineers and designers work directly in the Revit or IFC model, while anyone else can move through the same space, read equipment tags, and get oriented without opening any specialized software at all.
How often should we refresh a digital twin?
As often as the building changes in ways that matter to your decisions — a twin is only as good as its capture date, and a facility that has gone through renovation, equipment swaps, or expansion since the original 3D scan should be recaptured in the affected areas rather than treated as permanently current.
How accurate is the underlying data?
The point cloud that anchors the twin is captured by terrestrial laser scanning at a typical field accuracy of ±2–6 mm, depending on range, surface, control, and registration. Every project ships with a registration and QA report so that accuracy is documented rather than assumed.
