We scan Old Town and Skidmore historic blocks, City Hall and county civic buildings, and Portland State University structures for retrofit and rehabilitation. Unreinforced masonry buildings are a recurring driver, since seismic strengthening designs need accurate wall thickness, floor levels, and diaphragms. Small blocks, streetcar and MAX lines, and frequent rain mean careful planning of staging and weather-protected equipment.
