Building type

Homes & residential buildings
captured properly.

Complex renovation, multifamily, and high-value homes 3D scanned properly before design.

Why this building type gets scanned

Home 3D scanning is worth it when the renovation is complex enough that a wrong dimension costs more than the survey. Across New York City brownstones, Westchester and Fairfield County estates, Long Island coastal homes, and Northern New Jersey historic residences, we capture whole houses, additions, multifamily buildings, and awkward geometry—vaulted ceilings, spiral or curved stairs, sagging timber joists, and out-of-square plaster or masonry walls—at 2 to 3 mm tripod LiDAR accuracy so architects, structural engineers, and millworkers design from one verified E57, RCP, DWG, and Revit (.rvt) dataset.

  • Older homes are rarely square, level, or plumb, and design drawn from assumptions does not fit when framing, custom cabinetry, or structural steel arrives on site.
  • Additions, gut renovations, and historic brownstone or townhouse rehabs across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut need verified 2 to 3 mm tripod LiDAR geometry where new framing meets existing masonry or timber.
  • Multifamily, pre-war apartment, and condominium conversions benefit from one unified E57 and RCP point cloud plus measured 2D DWG floor plans, exterior elevations, and building sections across every level.
  • A single non-contact capture visit serves the design architect, structural engineer, general contractor, and architectural millworker in native Revit (.rvt), IFC, and AutoCAD (.dwg) without disruptive repeat tape-measure visits.

How a typical project runs

We walk the site or review drawings and photos, agree the areas and density, and set control. Field work is scheduled around your operations — nights, weekends, or planned outage windows where required. After registration and QA, the deliverable set is produced and reviewed with your team so the files are usable on day one. The full workflow is on our process page.

The deliverable set follows from the questions above. That is laser capture of the whole house, awkward geometry included, CAD as-built plans and elevations, and a measured architectural base the architect can design against.

What we capture
  • Whole-house interiors
  • Exterior elevations and rooflines
  • Basements and mechanical spaces
  • Stairs, vaults, and curved geometry
  • Additions and structural interfaces
  • Site and grade context
Typical deliverables
  • Registered point cloud
  • As-built floor plans and elevations
  • Revit or CAD model where scoped
  • Roof and site imagery
