3D scanning in
Downtown Los Angeles, CA.
Downtown LA is a dense mix of 1920s terra-cotta towers, Arts District warehouses, civic buildings, and the hospital and university cores around Boyle Heights and USC, with a steady flow of conversion work.
3D laser scanning in Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Much of our work here is existing-conditions capture of historic office towers along Spring and Broadway and Arts District industrial shells being converted to creative office and residential. Seismic retrofit and adaptive reuse drafts depend on accurate as-builts because original drawings are often missing or disagree with what was built. Access is tight: active street frontage, limited loading zones, and occupied floors mean most scanning runs after hours or in phased floor-by-floor sweeps.
One capture visit can end in several places. A registered E57 or RCP set suits teams who model in-house, a drawing set in DWG and PDF suits permit and facilities work, and scan-to-BIM suits projects where several trades share a ceiling. When roofs, yards, or grade are part of the question, aerial site mapping is flown in the same trip.
Downtown Los Angeles sits inside our California service area, so mobilization is short and a return visit for a phase-two capture does not mean rebuilding the whole job. Most work here is scheduled within days rather than weeks, including nights and weekends for occupied buildings.
