Plant work regularly turns up an object rather than a building: a legacy casting with no drawing, a machine guard that must fit an existing frame, a valve arrangement being replaced, an architectural element to be reproduced. We scan the object in place or in the shop and deliver a mesh or a surfaced CAD model your fabricator can work from.

Reverse engineering is the common request. A part is captured, converted from mesh to NURBS surfaces or a solid model, and dimensioned so a replacement can be manufactured without the original drawings. Fit and clearance checks are the other half: scanning both the part and the space it must occupy, then verifying the fit digitally before anything is shipped.

Being clear about scope: this is industrial-scale object capture — equipment, components, assets, and ornament — not micron-level metrology of small precision parts. Where a project genuinely needs a CMM or a structured-light metrology system, we will say so rather than stretch our instruments past what they can defend.

Two practical notes. We are not a walk-in 3D scanning studio: capture happens at your site, or in our shop by arrangement, which suits industrial parts far better than shipping them anywhere.
